GWEITHDY PLANT Y PYLLAU GLO
CHILDREN OF THE MINES WORKSHOP
Mae'r gweithdy yma yn seiliedig ar blant a wnaeth gweithio yn y pyllau glo Cymru dros 100 o flynnyddoedd yn ol!
This workshop is based on children that worked in the mines across Wales over 100 years ago!
Mae'r gweithdy yma yn para 1.5 awr, am 1 dosbarth lan at 35 o blant.
This workshop lasts 1.5 hours, for 1 class of up to 35 children.
Am y 30-40 munud cyntaf rydym yn edrych ar lluniau/clipiau o blant y pyllau glo yn ystod y chwyldro diwydiannol, yn siarad am bobeth o waith y plant, i pam oedd rhaid i nhw gweithio yn y pyllau. Rydym ni hefyd yn passio rownd eitemau go iawn o'r pyllau, e.e. helmedau, bocses bwyd, lampiau, beibl a llawer mwy!
For the first 30-40 minutes we look at photos/clips of children in the mines during the industrial revolution, discussing everything from the children's jobs, to why they had to work down the mines. We also pass around real items from the mines, e.g. helmets, lunch boxes, lamps, a bible, and much more!

Am weddyll y sesiwn mae gyda ni 3 weithgaredd:
- Cropian trwy twnel blacowt, efo cannwyll ffug a helmet, i weld pa mor dywyll oedd hi yn y pyllau!
- Tynnu cart sy'n cynnwys glo, i brofi pa mor galed a drwm oedd e i dynnu'r cartiau!
- Gwisgo lan yn dillad y plant, peintio gwynebau efo sialc du, a tynnu lluniau o flaen cefndir!
For the rest of the session, we have 3 activities:
- Crawl through a blacked out tunnel, with a fake candle and helmet, to see how dark it was down in the mines!
- Pull a bag full of coal, to experience how hard and heavy it was to pull the carts!
Dress in the mining children's clothing, cover your face in black chalk, and take pictures in front of our backdrop!
